After a packed work week, I decided I needed to unwind with a little art so I asked the hubbs if he cld take leave & hang out with lil E. I also thought it wld be a good time to kickstart his “birthday series”, which consists of new experiences/meals/sights/sounds leading up to his 30th birthday.
First up was to try out the coffee at common man coffee roasters. This was prob one of the few cafes I had considered worth returning to for both its food & beverage the first time I tried it and I was excited to finally be able to bring the hubbs.
Completely stoked that I could hv my burger & eat with two hands since the hubbs was carrying the baby yay!
The cafe has a very Aussie vibe so it felt like we were on a mini-holiday. I imagine we would be in cafe after cafe at our next vacation, wherever that might be. In fact we bumped into tourists fr Australia there who were enamoured with Ethan. One of them kept saying “you are so cute, I wanna eat you!” To which E flashed his trademark sweet smile lol.
After that we went to the Art Science museum for the Annie Leibovitz photo exhibition. Again it was one of those things I had been purposing to do but the exhorbitant parking fees or just lack of time had previously prevented me fr doing so. On weekdays however, there was free parking with a min spend so we thank God for that!
Theres always something v calming about walking through a gallery & taking in art. It challenges your perspectives and refreshes the mind, and some particularly arresting images just stay with you. I think I liked her family photos the best and I am reminded how blessed I am to be in this digital age where I can save pieces of memories by the minute with just one click.
It was an awesome, spontaneous family day – just what I need to recharge (:
