After a really crazy August was the start of an equally crazy Sept. I dont think I hv been so tired in awhile and I am looking forward to the end of my night classes though I do enjoy the content.
So it was a welcome respite when SOG headed off to a kelong last Sunday. Its a ten min boat ride to the kelong restaurant and once we were out there, it was peace and quiet. I didnt even feel pukish!
Ethan was scared by the loud boat engine noises and grabbed me tight.
But once on kelong, attempted to go very near the waters each time.
We caught our own fish & it got cooked for our dinner. Very fresh & delicious even for a non-fish lover like myself!
On Tues, Mich treated me to hi-tea at Goodwood & what can I say? The quality never fails. I also much prefer savoury overall though I do like a dessert or two and Goodwood is mostly savoury so that served my belly well.
The next day at office, I was surprised with flowers, gifts and wishes fr Kwee, Jo, Lou and others. I felt very spoilt (:
And then on my actual birthday, kwee took me to lunch and a tea appreciation workshop. I didnt know that black tea on its own actually tastes the most bland. Thats why its always used as a blend base i.e. Earl Grey, English Breakfast, Strawberry tea..etc. It was a very therapeutic afternoon and I wouldnt mind going again to try the teahouse dimsum which I heard are good too!
Come Sunday was meant to be the family celebration but my mum was ill so it was just the siblings & Ethan. We finally tried the food at Blu Kouzina – hearty greek salads and heartier meats. We were so stuffed and I really couldnt bring myself to eat more cake. Good thing is I have cake to eat for the rest of the week! Also, Ethan lasted nearly an hour on the high chair which was just about right to finish the food but not enough to be done with wine. Well, hopefully he will grow to LOVE food and stay still longer as he grows #mumgoals
My sis got me the cutest hello kitty inspired bouquet. Def brings a smile to my face when I see it (:
